Today's Get the Look was inspired by the 20-year-old New York native, Rachel Hilbert. Rachel was recently discovered four years ago at the age of 16 and received her big break in modeling when she was hired on by Victoria's Secret Pink, becoming the brand's first ever official Pink Ambassador. The model also poses for campaigns with Urban Outfitters, Delia's, Macy's and Kohl's. While she may still be considered up-and-coming to some, Rachel's style has struck a chord with the fashion community and without a doubt will be another one to watch over the next few seasons.
When I searched for different images of Rachel's street styles, this photo was the most popular. On her way to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show rehearsal in 2015, Rachel was seen wearing what looks to be one of the coziest yet trendiest outfits yet. Who knew mixing red and green wasn't just for Christmas? While it isn't completely common, the mixture of red, green and navy work well together and can definitely be a fun alternate option to your traditional neutral attire.
Top 1: Rachel is definitely following one of the biggest trends this season. The iconic 90's fashion trend known as the turtleneck has made it's comeback and I guarantee we won't be seeing the last of it this season. It turns out there are two different sweaters with differing prices that I was able to find to match Rachel's outfit. This ASOS Chunky Sweater With High Neck In Boucle is the more affordable option, coming in at only $26.00. The high funnel neck and coloring is similar to Rachel's, however this second option is almost an exact match.
Top 2: H&M always has a great selection of chunky sweaters and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. This Cable-knit Turtle Neck Sweater is on the pricey end, listed at $49.99, but this item is one that you can pair with anything and will definitely get a lot of use out of for years to come.
Skirt: Forever 21 never disappoints. Yes, I do know the lines are going the opposite direction in the photo, but to be able to find this Striped Mini Skirt with the same colors printed on Rachel's skirt was quite an accomplishment. On top of that it's only $12.90, which ultimately makes this the achievement of a lifetime.
Coat: And now comes the real splurge. Let me warn you by saying heavy duty coats are an investment; not only does the quality go up but the more you spend, the longer the coat is going to last you. With that in mind, I found this almost identical ASOS Pea Coat in Oversized Fit. Even though it is priced at $163.00, to even find anything similar to Rachel's is remarkable and if you're looking to recreate the outfit this is a definite must have!
Boots: These boots were another challenge I knew I would face. Finding over the knee boots are difficult in general, especially if you are 5'10 like I am, but to find some for a decent price seemed nearly impossible. I did, however, find these Quikstep Over The Knee Boots from Nine West for $59.99, and on top of that they were originally $199.99! Nine West also offers a 15 percent off promotion on their website for signing up so if you haven't done that yet then there is another way for you to save.
Bag: The bag that Rachel has in the photo is a Channel bag, and as much as I wish we could all go out and buy that one, practicality says no. Thankfully Forever 21 has saved us again by making this Quilted Faux Leather Crossbody for $14.90. It even locks so you don't have to worry about all your belongings falling out!
Sunglasses: This look wouldn't be complete without Rachel's adorable sunglasses. These Women's Cat Eye Sunglasses from Target are only $16.99 and will complete the entire look on those overly sunny days.
And there you have it! Now you can effortlessly look just like Rachel Hilbert and pretend you're on your way to walk the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, (because come on, isn't that what we all aspire in life?) Let me know in the comments what you think and if you have any other suggestions for my NYFW series!
