Jourdan Dunn is a British fashion model who began her career back in 2006 at the age of 15. Her lengthy list of campaign appearances is impressive, including designer companies such as Burberry, Balmain, Yves Saint Laurent, Free People, Louis Vuitton and the face of Rhianna's collection for River Island. She walked 75 shows during the spring/summer 2008 season and was the first black model to walk in a Prada runway show in over a decade. Jourdan also didn't take a break from modeling until she was 6 months pregnant with her now 6-year-old son, Riley, who suffers with sickle-cell anemia. It would be an understatement to say the 25 year old has made strides in the fashion community: she is slowly changing the fashion world as we know it to one filled with strong, empowering women.
The look that I chose was a bohemian vibe street outfit. This specific style is a great option for transitioning into fall and for those who strive to look casually chic. The best part about this look is that it is very affordable and you probably have elements already in your wardrobe you can contribute!
Top: This Ribbed Thermal Tee from Forever 21 almost matches the photo identically. The tight fight will make it easy to tuck into the shorts, and for only $10.90, this is a steal!
Shorts: Mom jeans have made a comeback and the best known retailer for supplying this 90's trend is Topshop. These MOTO Vintage Mom Shorts are listed at $52.00, however you can probably also find a cheaper alternative at your local Goodwill or even potentially in your mother's closet (they don't call them mom jeans for nothing!)
Boots: I stated in a previous blog post that over-the-knee boots are difficult to come by for a good price, which still reigns true, however I magically came across these Chinese Laundry Bachelorette Over-the-Knee Stretch Boots that are only $32.25! I couldn't believe it! They actually appear to be tall too so for all my fellow long legged gals out there, these are a must have!
Handbag: With every Get the Look series comes a challenge, and this specific one was this bag. Jourdan's hangbag was very difficult to find on a budget, but this Faux Snakeskin Hobo Bag was online at The Limited for $79.95. The coloring is actually a lot more similar that I had initially thought, something that is hard to match with snakeskin prints, and the fact that it comes with a longer strap makes this versatile bag a good find.
Sunglasses: Another great place for finding sunglasses on a budget is Topshop. Most of their sunglasses are $30 or less and their styles range from retro shades to metallic aviators. These Whitney Round Sunglasses, for example, are $30 and you'll probably have people asking you all day what designer they are.
