For anyone who doesn't know, today technically marks the start of one of the most important weeks of the year, New York Fashion Week, and to say I'm excited would be an understatement. While most of the shows aren't until tomorrow, I have decided a fun way to celebrate this momentous week would be to do a NYFW Get the Look series. Each day of NYFW I will pick a model who is making strides in the fashion world and come up with cheaper alternatives to affording one of their most iconic outfits.
Today's model is Gigi Hadid, the 20-year-old, Los Angeles-raised show stopper who rose to a high level of stardom this previous year. Starting her career at the age of two, Gigi has worked with top designer brands like Guess, Marc Jacobs, Max Mara, Michael Kors and most recently Victoria's Secret, just to name a few. Her list of friends ranges from pop sensation, Taylor Swift, who invited her to appear in her "Bad Blood" music video in 2015, to model and TV reality star, Kendall Jenner. Gigi is only on her way up and is definitely one to keep an eye on if you haven't been already.
Jeans: Gigi is sporting white skinny jeans with rips down the leg, and the first place you should always turn to for unique, affordable denim is Forever 21. I found these Contemporary Life In Progress Distressed Skinny Jeans for $24.90 on it's website. Compared to other locations who charge upwards of $40.00 for a pair of jeans, I would say these are a steal and a definite must have in your personal collection.
Shoes: I love how Gigi paired a strappy heel with such a sporty look. This Mason Lizard Barely There pair from Boohoo matches almost exactly and are probably half the price at $44.00 (I don't know why the photo won't show up, but the link works so you can always just click that!)
And there you have it! Gigi's entire outfit for under $100.00. Hopefully you will stick around for more as I prepare to tackle more models and their luxurious attire. Let me know in the comments below what stores you like to shop at that don't break the bank!
